Mike Downing joined the Greene Finney Cauley, LLP team in 2004. As a Senior Manager, Mike provides oversight and quality control for attestation engagements, specializing in governmental and not-for-profit entities. He also brings expertise and experience in implementing new accounting and auditing standards and assists in leading the firm’s continuing education for its staff and clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Mike served 15 years with Ernst & Young, where he gained experience working with commercial and multi-family real estate, construction, and HUD compliance. He also served eight years with Sloan Construction Company as Assistant Controller, then Controller.
Mike earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Bob Jones University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), as well as the South Carolina Association of CPAs. He is a member of Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church. Mike is partially retired; he and his wife are very blessed and keep busy with their six children and nine grandchildren.
